PacCALL Journal - Journal of the Pacific Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning

  • a semi-annual, refereed journal to explore the impact of computers and the Internet on language and applied linguistics
  • serving the membership of the association
  • contributing to the expansion of knowledge and practice in all areas of learning additional languages through technology
  • encouraging the professional development of researchers, teachers and students through dissemination of ideas about technology and second language learning
  • examining novel and critical perspectives on the role of computers in language learning

 

Submission Information

The Editors invite submission of manuscripts in these areas:

  • full-length articles (up to 5,000 words of core text) offering empirical or conceptual treatment of emergent issues, problems, or opportunities in CALL, including issues of practice such as syllabus and curriculum design, distance learning, and use of computer technologies in instructional design, teaching, and learning;
  • reviews (750 - 1000 words) evaluating individual or related Internet-based or conventional texts or approaches to instruction in CALL;
  • viewpoints (1000 - 2000 words) presenting approaches to instruction in CALL, as well as issues related to CALL that impact on professional practice, including short essays focusing on:
    • public policy and trends in technology use
    • individual perspectives on CALL
    • issues raised in PacCALL Journal
    • trends, studies, and reports that widely affect CALL;
  • news and briefings (within 500 words) providing information of interest to readers, including descriptions of ideas and technologies, and upcoming meetings and conferences.
